The Marine Advisory Medical Service has been operating since 1988.
It is an organisation which caters specifically to the needs of the
shipping industry. The organisation is committed to providing a
professional service at all levels.
Our range of services responds to our clients'
requirements, which includes their need to be properly informed of
all aspects of repatriation from any particular country including,
documentation, estimated costs and scheduling. We are able to
provide detailed estimates with breakdown if required of the
proposed intervention by our organisation or by our agents.
Advice from our clients will determine if escorts from our offices
worldwide will assist in the repatriation, or if it will be carried
out by accredited doctors. All doctors and nurses employed by this
organisation have full medical indemnity insurance, which is valid
worldwide. This is in sharp contrast to many doctors working from
other countries, who do not. This ensures that no claim for medical
malpractice arises against the ship owner.
Unlike our competitors, we offer an all inclusive fee and not a
daily based fee for medically assisted repatriation. This works out
substantially less than others offering the same service. As a non
profit operation, there are no administration charges levied for
repatriations.
Our physicians have specialist qualifications in aeromedicine, and
it is indeed a requirement for appointment to the post of Principal
Medical Officer that the Diploma in Aviation Medicine be held. We
have access to opinions of experts at the highest acclaim worldwide.
Air ambulance repatriations are costly and are used only when
absolutely necessary. We are mindful of the cost to our clients, and
unlike repatriation companies that own air ambulances, we have no
incentive whatsoever to use these costly solutions, when other
cheaper alternatives exist.
We have multi-lingual staff available to provide translation and
interpretation. For insurers and ship owners who prefer, business
can be conducted in Chinese (Mandarin) language from our Singapore
Office. We have a Russian language liaison doctor who is able to
liaise with all Russian speaking countries, and a Chinese speaking
doctor for all Chinese speaking countries to ensure smooth and
efficient operations. |
